Ever since the New Year's rate hike I have had multiple incidents where my packages show up as delivered a day or two before they actually show up. This has happened at least 8 times on incoming packages and 4 times when a buyer messages me saying they did not get it. My last incoming one never showed up at all. But since tracking showed it as delivered, eBay would not even give me a refund and I just lost my money. Of course I did a search with USPS but they never responded as they just don't care. This seems to frequent to be a mistake. It's almost as if they are marking packages that will be late as on time to cover their asses. I even cornered my mailman and he kind of looked at me like I was right about that and it was company policy, but he couldn't confirm or deny my guess. Has anyone else had the same issue or does anyone know what is going on? It feels so shady and my buyers keep thinking their packages were stolen.

Have you gone the next step up and contacted the Postmaster at your local post office about this?

Whenever you don't like the way your meal is prepared, it's always a good idea to complain to the postmaster, or the restaurant manager. That way, the cook or mail carrier will be sure to remember you, and add a little something extra when they correct the problem.

I would guess the thinking may be it saves time to scan everything at one time, then not everything scanned is actually delivered that day.
I guess, that If something was out for delivery, but possiby overlooked and there was insufficient time to deliver that day,a delivered scan avoids the creation of a unfavorable record for possible review.
Review of actual GPS delivery scans may be your friend, to address the issue.
Wishing you some good luck

Unfortunately this is nothing new. I have been experiencing early delivery scans as both a seller and a buyer for at least 5 years now. You can complain, but in my experience USPS does what they want when they want and couldn't care less how it effects the end user.

This happens from time to time, and it's not just USPS, I've had this from UPS as well. It's likely the delivery person gaming their system to keep their stats up. The items always arrive the next day, which is how I know it was a records problem, not a mis-delivery (in all likelihood).
For the package that never arrived, it might pay to ask at the local sub-station about actual delivery address. I had an incoming package mis-delivered a few doors down, and when I first asked at the sub-station, they just said "it was delivered". When I asked WHERE, they did some more clicking, and gave me the actual "delivered to" address, and I got the package by going to the neighbor. You'd think the USPS sub-station agent would have thought to check to which address themselves, but no... The label address was correct, the carrier left it at the wrong door.

And I never complain to food prep people. I've heard some horror stories on making them angry.

And it gets better. Today my package was delivered on time. In the Bronx. Unfortunately I live in Austin....... Sigh.
