USPS is horrible! Avoid using them if you can!

Try to avoid USPS as much as possible, whether you are a buyer or a seller!    As a buyer , I have been waiting since before Thanksgiving for a package. It has not been scanned since Nov 20.  Forget the eBay guarantee, the seller won't give me a refund and neither will eBay. I don't t even need the item anymore.  As a seller, I shipped something to nc and it is sitting in a dc, u scanned for over a week. I filed missing mail searches on both items weeks ago,  hearing crickets.

Re: USPS is horrible! Avoid using them if you can!

USPS has been experiencing regional issues. The entire system is not suffering significant delays.

As for the item you purchased, why forget the MBG? Did you wait too long to file a claim? If it's past the MBG you can file a payment dispute since the seller isn't volunteering a refund.

The package you shipped that's been sitting for a week will probably move, but in the event it doesn't pretty much every tracked service except Media Mail comes with up to $100 insurance on lost packages.

eBay won't give a time limit on how long I have to wait for a refund. Is it a month? Is it 2 months? Is it 6 months?   Is it until the seller gets a refund from the po?  The last time I got a refund from the post office it took 9 months. I am not new to this. I been selling on eBay for 24 yrs.

In your order, it should show an estimated delivery date. If that date has passed, go to the order and click on request a refund, choosing that the item hasn't arrived.

Seller will respond with a tracking number, ebay will give a few days for movement and if there isn't any, you can go back to the claim and ask ebay to step in.

Note: For non-movement tracking, I find it helpful (as a seller) to open a missing package search with USPS. In 100% of my cases, that search shakes the item loose from wherever it's hiding and the package is delivered within 2-3 days.

You have 30 days from estimated delivery (find that date on your order confirmation email) to file a non-receipt request.

After the request is filed, if the seller does not refund, after 4 days you will be able to "ask eBay to step in" to escalate the request to a case. If package doesn't show tracking movement or delivery, eBay will force the refund from the seller.

Re: USPS is horrible! Avoid using them if you can!

All those things have already happened. Filed the not received, waited, then asked eBay to step in, talked to them on the phone, they told me to wait another 10 days and if the seller still refuses to refund, eBay will " sort it out".   My question is, how long will they really kick the can down the road? Can't wait to get to the "we will sort it out" I can't get a straight answer out of them

There was an estimated delivery date in the listing when you made the purchase.  Has that date passed by more than 24 hours?  Did you or did you not open an item not received case? There is no such thing as "seller won't give me a refund" in that situation.

eBay put a 10 day extension on the claim to allow more time for delivery. If it's not delivered within those 10 days, the system should auto-close the INR and send you a refund.

Re: USPS is horrible! Avoid using them if you can!

As I said in the orig post, I filed a missing mail search Nov 28. It never shook out. I finally did get a refund from eBay yesterday, almost 4 weeks since the last postal scan.  So, if u run into this problem, just don't give up!  I talked to eBay every day!

The USPS  Internal  system tracking   has the correct  scan   information  ,you have to ask at your PO .  Their   web page doesn't   which is used on eBay .    Also  USPS  has and is dealing  with missed sent  parcel 's    to the wrong location .   Also   Sellers  don't  drop off at the counter  your package's ,they will not get scanned in  and the sorting  hubs aren't  scanning them on time  because the PO didn't  scan first  ,which is causing 2 to 3 day delay in  transit .  this problem on going for both none holidays and Holidays.
