Rather the just complain lets start a thread to show real examples and demonstrate the actual events ocurring.
As a buyer:
11 days and no word: package mailed 12/7 NYC. Scanned 12/9 Jersey City, NJ 12/9 Current status "in transit arriving late" destination DC area.
As a seller:
Four days to scan a package: Dropped at DC area Post Office 12/15 first origin scan ( this would be at receiving PO) 12/19 Current status processed through a DC facility 12/19
Non eBay package:
10 Days and package headed wrong direction: USPS picked item in IL headed for DC area 12/10. Arrived at Champaign, Il Distribution Center 12/14. Arrived Omha, NE 12/15 (why it went west not east a mystery). Last update: the dreaded "YOUR PACKAGE WILL ARRIVE LATER THAN EXPECTED, BUT IS STILL ON ITS WAY. IT IS CURRENTLY IN TRANSIT TO THE NEXT FACILITY."

Had 50 packages picked up last Saturday. Normally 99% of the time the packages gets a scan later on in the evening. So far one package that was picked up last weekend has a scan the rest of the packages are who knows where. Spoke with the local postal clerk and she said they are 2 weeks behind at the main hub in Indianapolis and have no idea when or if my packages will get a scan there. Needless to say I will never ship without making sure I get an acceptance scan.

Ebay just issued a revision to the late shipment policy. Too many situations where it has taken sometimes 2 weeks for USPS to scan. And I have many of those. So where is the protection there. Normally I see one of these every 6 mths or so. Most of my packages are starting to move through the system now, but may be too late for some buyers. It mostly seems to be USPS though I have 1 that appears to be lost from Fed Ex and had to replace one Fed Ex order and shipped through UPS which will ding my account for a late shipment, all because I chose to provide the best customer service to my customer. The tracking for the original Fed Ex pkg was on time. The execs at Ebay are not the ones who are living through this. I closed my store a week early because of this and have been doing nothing but working through all of this issues. I am down to monitoring 8 packages now and it is just days before the holiday.
Here are some examples of what will be considered late shipping, but not on my part, Was USPS and probably late delivery:
2nd example:
This item wasnt even scanned at original location, now in Atlanta since 7th and sitting:
This is the Fed Ex pkg that has to be replaced and sent by UPS:
Arrived on time, but will show late shipment because I had to reship. Great customer service on my
part. But I will be punished by Ebay for Fed Ex losing original package. The investigation for the Fed Ex item was erroneously placed on the UPS pkg. Original Fed Ex was done on time but never scanned as recd.

Package dropped off Nov 27, Left Post office the same day...
Went to some unknown location and hasn't been seen since!

I have a package in the unknown facility too - it is really Springfield, MA. Not sure why they can't actually write that.

Here is my example, printed label at home on 12/6 and dropped at local PO on 12/7. No scanning, and I opened up a trace on 12/09, and so far it is moving in Shreveport LA on 12/11 that is it. No tracking of parcel being received at my local PO.

Are you using A SCAN sheet at the initial pickup? With these you immediately receive a scan that reads " Item received , acceptance pending". This covers you as a seller and show s eBay & your buyer exactly when you shipped. Many PO are no longer doing acceptance scans . Had I not had that initial scan from my carrier it would be a disaster. I have had over 300 packages since 12/1 never get a scan until "delivered" . Another 200 had only 2 scans along the way, while another 100 or so have over 15 scans.
Obviously, the system is broken. And let's not forget the high speed sorting machines that were never returned or brought back online. Here in Cleveland, the head postmaster has been on the evening local news stating that they are operating with only 60% of their sorting machines and 65% of the workforce. She has pleaded with the head postmaster to bring those sorting machines back on line ( they are physically there in the sorting facility but turned off -- as per Louis Dejoy). The fact that eBay is allowing INR cases to be filed one day after estimated delivery dates is a travesty.

3 packages are continuously being scanned in and out at the original post office in AZ for almost 2 weeks now. USPS has no idea whats going on.
After 6 days 1 package to RI and 1 package to MA left AZ and moved in the wrong direction to Seattle and have been in Seattle for 5 days now. The buyer in RI gave me a negative feedback due to the delay and Ebay won't remove it as promised.

I think it's important to keep highlighting the issues. The revise eBay policy does not help. I believe it gives an extra day or two leeway on origin scan beyond your normal handling time so in my case my 5 day wait for an origin scan (was not going to wait on a line of 20-25 people in a crowded PO during corvid) was beyond the new eBay policy.
As for deliver believe again the updated policy is the package is late if it's 2 days beyond the normal time. Think the example is if you selected something with 1-5 day delivery window it would be late after 7 working days. Clearly, most packages will not make it 7 working days. Many seem to be in limbo for days on end. The revise policy is not synched up with what's really happening.
These issues are way of sellers hands. Once given to a carrier the seller has zero influence over the package.
Lets keep documenting how bad it is with real examples. Maybe, and this is a big maybe, someone at eBay will be listening.

Still waiting on a package to arrive in Ohio. There hasn't been any movement on the tracking since December 4 and I have not yet received the item.

Shipped an item to a buyer Dec. 5th, the same day it was ordered.
Last scan was from the first sort facility all my packages go through only 90 miles away from me.
I opened a USPS search request. It gets referred to the destination post office in NC.
Why would it get referred to the destination post office? If they had the package or knowledge of the package it would have been delivered by now.
The destination post office closed the case 2 days after I opened it and sent me an email saying "Case Resolved" .
The buyer has already complained.
Well, it's been more than 15 days, I can file a lost mail claim now.
The media is aware, maybe no one reads?
