USPS Tracking- Trace?

I have a few packages that haven't had any updates on tracking for a few days (and buyers are a little antsy right now- opening cases the day after expected delivery.)

Soooo, I've seen a few members mention a way to "shake up tracking" by requesting a trace through USPS. Can someone please provide a link to trace? Just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Thanks in advance!

When people say shake up tracking, they are usually referring to the signing up for email or text updates for the tracking number. You can do so from the tracking page - https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input . Enter your tracking number and then sign up for email or text updates. That does work a lot of the time for me for stagnant packages.

To request an official trace/search request, you can go to this page - https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm

For items with a case open, I would complete the missing mail form. I would also contact eBay via email, twitter or facebook and ask them to extend the cases to allow additional delivery time for COVID-19. I would ask your buyers to be patient too.

You can call the 800 number on the USPS web site. They can pull up a lot more info than what is on line. That is if it's staffed with all this gone viral stuff.

OK- so I don't understand why, but signing up for the notifications actually worked for both items?! I'm blown away- it was less than 4hrs and both of them had updates (one hadn't popped up since May 2 and the other since May 4.) I had already filed an official trace on the one from the 2nd, but it doesn't look like it's necessary now.

Magic!
