USPS Tracking Today

Hi - I sent out 3 Priority packages this morning, took to post office, waited & got tracking scanned, have postal paper receipt. Now 2 of the packages are showing the acceptance scan as well as already being at a sort facility, whilst the 3rd one isn't even showing the acceptance scan at the post office. Yes it is insured, that's not the point, I have provided tracking to buyer which now shows like I haven't even shipped it. So my only proof is the paper postal receipt I have. Why would 2 show everything normal, a-okay, & the third showing at USPS.com (not just the eBay tracking) that "label created" USPS awaiting item & nothing else? Is anyone else having this problem today or within last couple days or ???? I also wonder if it ends up in the land of the lost packages (never scans just disappears) if my paper postal receipt will provide for package insurance validity? Any help appreciated.

Well, the (3) Media Mail packages I shipped Monday 10/30 (waited in line at post office, got scans w/postal receipt), are still missing. NOTHING is showing at eBay or USPS.com, for all (3) is showing:

Label Created, not yet in system

A status update is not yet available on your package. It will be available when the shipper provides an update or the package is delivered to USPS. Check back soon. 

So in other words, all (3) look as though not even shipped yet. My question is why they are not at least showing acceptance at post office scan. I took them approx. 2pm on Monday, they scanned each one & I have postal receipt. These weren't super valuable (approx. $70. total for all 3), so no i did not insure, so understand that if lost forever it's my problem. But my question remains that absolute scan at post office on Monday 2pm, where are they now & why haven't they scanned anywhere else? I hardly believe they are still sitting at the post office. All other packages I sent that same day, including 2 other Media Mail, 2 1st Class & 1 Priority, are all "normal" & moving thru system & show all scans including acceptance scan. I understand Media Mail is the bottom of the barrel shipping & takes no kind of Priority in the USPS food chain, but can anyone explain why scans show for other packages send same day/same way (Media) but these seem to have fell off the face of the earth? Also, I will add I sent (4) Media packages on Tuesday 10/31 & 1 more today 11/1 & all of them are also "normal", showing acceptance & moving thru system  thru USPS postal centers. I am just super-frustrated & have already been contacted by one buyer asking why their tracking number is "no good". Anyone out there that can conceivably tell me what's wrong? I know contacting USPS will do no good because I've done it before only for them to read me the same information I pull up on USPS.com (worthless call). Anyway, thanks for listening, anybody else in same boat this week?

Yup! The shipment I mentioned in my earlier post -- shipped on 10/18, scanned-in, USPS showing acceptance scan -- has still not been scanned again after that, and is apparently either lost or stolen by a postal worker. Not exactly the same issue you're having, but close enough to cast growing suspicion on the competency of USPS.

It only takes a small percentage of idiots and thieves in a very large organization to give that organization a very bad reputation. USPS has a TV commercial running currently (at least on cable and satellite stations) that proclaims "your business is our business". In the interest of honesty and full disclosure, the script should be changed to "your business is our business, and we won't be happy until we hurt your business"

I'm convinced their tracking procedure was designed by Bozo the Clown and is run by circus monkeys on barbiturates.

Well of the (3) Media packages I shipped on Monday 10/30 that hadn't scanned at all, here it is Saturday 11/4 & (2) of them still show absolutely nothing, appear like I never shipped them at all, they are not even showing the acceptance scan at the post office which I waited in line, were scanned & I have postal receipt for. I contacted the postmaster at my local p.o. & he asked for copy of my receipt which I took to him yesterday. He was very nice, but baffled when I produced the actual proof that I indeed had the receipt for these packages as being scanned/accepted at his post office on 10/30, & yet they don't even show that at USPS.com. The 3rd package showed up in Tennessee with one scan, saying it was "accepted" in Tennessee yesterday (last night around 10 pm). Yep, I drove to Tennessee last night & dropped off that package. Again other 2 have fell off Earth w/no explanation from anyone. And of course these (3) packages are flagged faults in my eBay account as not being validated/accepted by the post office within 24 hours (or 1 business day). I am so upset & at a complete loss of what is going on. Postmaster said he'd get back to me, but didn't seem very confident in finding their whereabouts. But no matter my eBay Top Rated Seller Plus discount will be vanquished now, all thanks to the USPS. I will try to call eBay, tho I seriously doubt they will do anything even though I have proof of acceptance on my postal receipt, which of course shows date/time they were accepted, but when you call they don't seem to understand the importance of things to you personally & just give canned answers but don't offer real fix for what should be rectified in my account if I provide proof I truly shipped these on time. It's bad enough that I will have to deal with rightfully upset eBay customers & provide refunds for goods, all thanks to the USPS. And no I cannot build even more $$$ into my selling prices to cover insurance for everything I sell, nor can I afford to ship very heavy lots of books via Priority Mail (which I realize includes insurance). I already eat postal costs to provide free shipping to try to continue to be competitive on eBay, I cannot possibly add more $$$ to selling price & remain competitive in the eBay community.  So when the package losses happen, it is at my & my reputation's expense, & it is very costly.

This is an ongoing event,  some show up and others dont.   Often telling customer I have sent the item only to be told no I didnt.   Very fustrating.     Whats most concerning is that eBay holds us to these rules with contracts that have financial and visibility penalties that we have little to no control over.   gggrr
