USPS Strange Shipping Route

Hi,

I bought something from an ebay seller on Sunday from the US to Hong Kong.

The seller sent the package USPS Priority Mail International.

Does anyone know how accurate USPS's tracking system is and whether this information is right?

Why has it gone on this strange route departing Lousiville twice and how can it depart Milwaukee minutes after departing Louisville!?!?

Louisville and Milwaukee are in different time zones; those times are actually an hour apart. Nevertheless, since the cities are 400 miles apart, that's still an impressive turnover.  Perhaps there was a delay in actually uploading the Louisvlle data.  These mysteries are one of the many reasons why it's not productive to babysit your tracking numbers.

What the heck is happening with the USPS tracker.

I have the email updates so I'm not tracking it constantly. They've just emailed me with this:

October 7, 2017, 1:30 pm Departed HONG KONG  

I don't know what time this is using as it is actually 22.30 here in Hong Kong.

But how did it get from MILWAUKEE, UNITED STATES at 5.44am to here?? Milwaukee to Hong Kong should take a lot longer than five hours!

Some of those date-time stamps are probably for a shipping container rather than an individual package. Or somebody is playing with the scanning machine's settings!

Via Priority Mail from Florida to either Louisville (KY) or Milwaukee (WI) -- 4 days is NOT impressive at all. The standard in-transit time to either destination is 2 days.

Personally, I doubt your package went to either place. The usual international route from Florida is to New York or Los Angeles. Of course, the recent hurricanes might disrupt service patterns but . . . .

I ive in Hawaii and sent something to France and it has been sitting for a week in OHIO. Overseas itms never go to Ohio. It's crazy as the seller gets defects for this. Just another way to get rid of small sellers.

A seller does not "get defects" for transit delays.

If you don't get a carrier scan within stated handling time, then you put youself at the mercy of the carrier and the buyer, and MAY take a hit to the late shipment metric if delayed in transit, but that's 100% on you.

the USPS SUCKS!!! I am having a similar experience. An item I purchased was shipped from TN to Fl on Tuesday. According to the USPS website it arrived in Ybor City, 15 mins from my home on Thursday, and then they decided to ship it all the way up to NJ instead of delivering it to me. Saturday its back in Ybor City again just sitting there. Maybe I'll get my package next week.

I’m having the same problem. Mine was coming from Port Riches Fl to Morristown Tn. It was only supposed to take two days. It’s been stuck at Ybor City since Saturday and apparently has left Yabor City 4 times in the past day. **bleep** USPS

I have researched about their shipping details and found that they ships all the packages via ship thorugh water route. So rest assured that it will take at lease 01 month to reach to you. It depends on the ship speed.

Same thing has happened to me. Hope this will solve your problem.

I'm in Hawaii also and packages seemed to be in a limbo in Miami going on two half days same location WTH

Interesting!  How fast do items travel in Hawaii when the threat of a typhoon is looming over the islands?
