We sell an item and buy the USPS label through ebay.
We then get a tracking number.
If a customer clicks the tracking number before the item has been dropped off at the post office and scanned often they will get a city/state that isn't ours.
For example, we are shipping from Texas but the label says it is going to ship from California. Once it is scanned into USPS it changes and shows Texas.
There is no pattern that we can find. Sometimes it says Michigan. Some times it says Florida. And today it said California.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Can't say I've heard of it.
Do you get that false initial information when you look up the tracking at usps.com? Or only on eBay?
Any chance you are checking postage rates to other cities on your eBay listings? I've had some similar issues when I've temporarily (i think) change the ZIP when looking at a listing, and it sticks.

It is on the USPS website. It is like ebay is passing this information on to them. Our labels we print from Stamps.com just say that the label was created and not yet in their system. I thought it also might be some zip code thing but we see different city/state combinations showing up.
