I've always been extremely lucky with carrier pick ups and workers at the PO counter. I've almost never had anyone unwilling to scan my packages. I am always helpful and make it as painless as possible (Carry my packages to the mail truck or lay them out on the post office counter, always providing them properly oriented for a quick and easy scan... myself and an experienced USPS worker make extremely quick work of 8-15 packages.) Also 2 of my 4 nearby post offices have kiosks so I can often go do it myself and I go extremely quickly as well.
Alas, I'm finally at the point (OH NO!) where business is too good and 20-25+ packages is not unheard of. No one has complained yet but I accept that I need to use SCAN forms.
Question 1: I've searched high and low on this forum but so many threads don't address my question. Does a USPS SCAN form scan count towards an on-time shipment in EBay eyes? Does "Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending" or whatever it says, satisfy EBay that I did my part and prevent late shipment metric issues? I believe I remember an EBay employee chiming in on a thread saying Yes, but I can't find it. I don't want to rely on secondary scans at distro center or wherever (of actual package) for EBay metric issues, I know secondary scan (of actual package) is required for true acceptance and insurance coverage.
Question 2: I understand there are time deadlines for actually generating a SCAN form. This factors in both the "Shipping Date" on the labels themselves (editted under the Dispatch Info) and also when you go into actually generate the scan form (it usually has a count down clock saying generate in __:__:__ (amount of time). So, if my labels are marked "Ship on Monday" and I generate my SCAN form on Monday, can I carry the scan form into the post office on Tuesday? Or is the actual form void if not used on/by the "Shipping Date" (Monday)
Thanks!!! 😄

Yes, the scan form when scanned is considered accepted by ebay.
Post date the labels. If you print them on Monday, but don't ship till Tuesday, put Tuesday's date on them when you create them.

Thank you, this comes close but does not quite answer my exact Monday/Tuesday question. I agree this is what I SHOULD do. But, does dating the labels & scan form for "Monday" mean the SCAN form is void if I walk in on Tuesday?
If I KNOW I'm going Tuesday, I will date them Tuesday. I very recently had every intention of going on Monday, dated them Monday, was ready to go but due to unforeseen circumstances, could not get in til first thing Tuesday AM. That is why I ask.
Thanks!

While predated labels and form aren't technically void, some counter clerks will give you hard time, as it makes the post office look like they are shipping late, while your pick up carrier won't care or probably even notice.
I don't know about the scan form, but for individual labels, the counter clerk can apply a no charge label that updates the shipping date. However, some clerks have to be asked nicely to accommodate you, while others don't even know they can do this. Usually not a problem for a couple of labels, but they'll probably balk at doing a bunch of them.

Ok, yeah, labels date are absolutely no issue at least at my post offices because ive never seen a worker check the date on the label or have a fuss and ive never once concerned myself with the dates. 98% of my labels were shipped after date on the label because i print at night and ship next day (and never adjust date)
Ive never concerned myself with "post-dating" or checking what the shipping date is on the labels when i print them. The only time I became concerned with this is when I have to actually be careful with dates as for SCAN forms. I do order processing late at night, ship to date usually defaults to the current day, and its usually past hours for generating a SCAN form. So i have to postdate them to be able to generate the scan form in the first place, and thats why I asked. Last thing I want to do is generate a scan form and get that balked at... actually they wouldnt balk at it in that sense...it would likely have to be an actual policy issue that prevents them from doing it or system blocking the scan from processing, i cant imagine my local PO workers giving me trouble by choice.
Ive got 4 post offices i go to. 2 have kiosks so I scan myself, 2 I go to the counter. 2 where I go to the counter are SUPER chill and know me fairly well, never have given me any sort of issue ever on anything. They'd generally bend over backwards for me because I'm always nice, helpful & efficient.

There are no automatic checks that I have run into or know of for labels or scan forms. So as far as I know it is strictly up to the carrier or clerk to check. Carrier never do, but some clerks will.

Asked USPS worker at counter today. She looked at me kinda funny and thought about it. Said the date on the scan form should have no more effect than the date on the packages themselves. Since the date on pkg doesnt truly matter the date on the scam form shouldnt/wouldnt either.
I print most pkgs as night so they get that days date by default and are shipped next day (so dated prior day), so those arent an issue, guessing the date on scan form will also have no issue. (Only caveat she added was as long as it's not so old it - like the postage label - expired or something... LOL). Just didn't want to go through the hoop-la and create an unforeseen issue.
I surmise I am extremely lucky with the PO workers I have around me based on others' stories. Only ones I'm not crazy about work at POs with kiosks so I don't need to interact with them anyways.
