USPS Parcel Select Ground is not showing when I go to print label

This is the second time I've notice this recently.

I list both "USPS Parcel Select Ground" and "Priority Mail" as the shipping options.

Buyer picks "USPS Parcel Select Ground" and that is displayed on the order.

But when I choose a label to buy, ebay does not offer this option. It only offers the Priority Mail option, which is a bit more than what the buyer paid. I've thoroughly checked all the options, and Parcel Select is just not there.

What's happening here?

eBay has decided to phase out access to Parcel Select Ground labels, even though USPS has made no changes in their services or policies, and it's offered by all other online postage sellers including PayPal, endicia, stamps.com, etc.  You can purchase Parcel Select Ground postage through PayPal at

www.PayPal.com/shipnow

But do compare prices before you do that. For Zones 1 - 4, the USPS online price for Priority Mail is literally 10 cents more than Parcel Select Ground, and for Zones 5 - 8 the difference is less than a dollar. If you're a TRS you get a 3% discount when purchasing Priority labels through eBay, which makes it cheaper than Parcel Select.

IMHO Parcel Select ground should only be offered when necessary such as for hazmat or Oversize packages (i.e., length-plus-girth above the Priority limit of 108 inches).

YES -- I have noticed the same thing. I'm hoping it's a momentary glitch.

I did ask at the PO, and like the prior response, they have assured me that Parcel and Retail Ground (similar services) are remaining intact.

I also had an unsupported hunch that maybe it has something to do with programming the upcoming postal rate increases (I saw they were happening but not sure exactly for what rates)

I had an issue that the buyer paid for an $8 item with $6 shipping and I couldn't print a label at all -- had to go to the PO and it cost $13 to ship... I was so sad! lol

The new USPS rates go into effect  on January 24 and will affect most (if not all) services, as usual. This annual transition usually goes smoothly for eBay.

The removal of Parcel Select from the options for purchasing eBay labels is not a "momentary glitch."  First of all, it's been going on for months. Finally, eBay staff actually mentioned that this is intentional, see post #15 in this thread:

Wow!! No kidding!! I actually missed that announcement altogether, thank you for sharing!

Up until I shipped that one item I have not noticed any "phasing out" of Parcel at all, however, I will keep that in mind thanks again!!
