USPS Is Terrible

I ordered an EMS package from China on May 11th. Today, I saw on tracking that it is in the wrong unit postal office in PHILADELPHIA. I live in Maryland. The seller has been NARU'd and cannot send me a refund. What can I do at this point? If USPS erroneously delivers this package to the Lititz, PA address that it shows it at right now, what are my options? Paypal will side with the seller and probably not refund me, because USPS will "deliver" the package to some random address in Lititz.

I have submitted a package missing claim, but USPS has done nothing so far...

First,  don't assume that you won't get the item.  It can still be delivered to you .  It was probably tossed in the wrong bin or fell in the wrong bin.    Give it a few more days and open an item NOT received case.   Even if delivered to the wrong place, you can always call ebay and ask for a refund since seller is No longer registered.  You also have 180 days of buyer protection through paypal.   Open your case first in ebay.  NEVER OPEN 2 CASES at the same time because the first one will automatically close.

If you want to open the case in ebay and cannot find the transaction, don't panic.  YOu go to paypal,  SIGN IN,  Look in the HISTORY section, find the transaction and open the case there.   Follow the instructions.

Sounds like the seller may have used the wrong address. That would not be USPS fault.

That is true... EMS sent my package to the Chicago ISC, not the NYC ISC like it usually does.

Thank you. I think I'll just wait. Whether or not things work out, I could get my money back because the seller was NARU'd.

Paypal will cover you if the item was not delivered to the address on the original transaction.
The shipper has to open the claim with USPS. I mean, you can open it but the shipper will get the refund (if it was not delivered), which will do you no good.

The shipper was NARU'd. He can't takk to me or Paypal regarding this issue anymore.

It doesn't really matter which ISC it passes through. That's simply due to whichever airport the plane landed at, and who knows, maybe bad weather in New York diverted it to Chicago instead that day. If your address is on the outside, it will reach you eventually. I've seen some atrocious labels on foreign packages sent to me, but somehow they all made it.

It doesn't matter. If Paypal was the processor, Paypal will issue a refund if ebay doesn't, as long as the case is opened properly. That's your buyer protection from both companies.

The item was sent back to the original sender, as the postal office confirmed. However, the tracking shows it as "delivered". Will Paypal side with me, considering that the seller has been NARU'd and I never actually got my item?

Don’t stress...

If you are in MD, your distribution center will be Philadelphia (we live in DE.). 

Your package will most likely be delivered on Tuesday.

Recently  had a  package i shipped  from  Georgia to Missouri (Kanansas City area), the  package got to MO just  fine, the it moved to Allen Park Michigan, then to Detroit, then back  to Allen Park, then moved to Missouri & finally to the buyer - only  one day  late.  Priority mail - just shake my head but  with only 1527  packages shipped on eBay have had less than a handful that  did a dance  like that - not a  bad  batting average in my book.   Bet a "Yankee Dime" the situation I  described was   caused by the "human factor".  Machines & Computers very  seldom  make mistakes but humans do .

Just sit  back an Chill a little,  things should work out just fine - you should receive the  package - USPS  won't be delivering tomorrow or Monday.   Plus the seller did absolutely nothing wrong - no need to  bust 'em.  Put your self in the shoes of your sellers for just  a minute or two.  You know  that  saying "Stuff Happens" - thsi  is just a reminder  "Stuff Does Happen".   Heck  maybe some day you will start  selling on eBay - what if  this happened to you as a seller.  Just  2  years after we started buying only  on eBay, we started selling HMMMM!

Did you ever  have a Lititz, PA address on eBay & or PayPal account?  I  have several address on my PayPal account fro  various  family members we have stuff shipped to.  Some people  don't/forget  to update  both their eBay & PayPal ship to addresses when they relocate.   Our you have mor  than one ship to  addresses in your PayPal ship file with  one being an address in Lititz, PA  but  you forgot to  change the  ship to  address at the time of purchase.  Just  curious  as  how would you know it was  delivered to a given addresses in Lititz, PA.  I only see on the tracking report that items I received were delivered to my zip code.  On teh Intra USPS system I  can see teh full address but you  have to go  stand in  lien at the Po to  get this report and it does take some time.

Alas, talked with USPS Lititz PO. Package wass mislabeled, they are sending it back to original sender. I'll open a case and get my refund.
