USPS Ground Advantage

Good Morning All, I'm a bit confused. Most of my items I ship are under 15oz. I always do first class. The new boxes I got have been putting my items over 16oz. Can I still ship first class ground advantage if it goes over and still be charged for first class? Or is it an automatic priority mail and charged as priority?

Thank you.

USPS Ground Advantage

There is no such service as "first class ground advantage."

First Class Mail is for letters / flats - it is not a package service.

First Class Package service was discontinued and replaced with Ground Advantage over a year ago.

Ground Advantage is a package service for items anywhere from 1 oz up to 70 lbs.

Just make sure you enter accurate weight and dimensions on the listing form, and double-check they're accurate before you purchase your shipping labels.

If your new boxes are only a little over a pound, you can trim the inside flaps to save, maybe, an ounce or a little more. Depends on the thickness of the cardboard, etc.

Yeah I sometimes trim the corners of the side flaps when I need to cut a little weight.
