USPS Ground Advantage costs more?

I see sellers saying the new USPS Ground Advantage would reduce shipping cost but my Ebay calculated shipping cost went up.  A $15, 2 lb. 8x6x5 item to my own zip code was always calculated at $7.13 for "USPS Parcel Select Ground" before the 9th of July.  Then it switched automatically to Ground Advantage on the 9th, and now it's saying $8.50 on the exact same listing?  What is the "Advantage" in costing $1.37 more?  Is this price correct?  In fact everything I list now costs more than before.  I don't ship many things less that 2 pounds. Toy lots, appliances, stoneware and vintage glass, etc.  Is the Ebay shipping calculator not accurately displaying the correct cost to buyers?

$7.13 was the old Parcel Select Ground price to ship 2 pounds to Zone 1.

$8.50 is the current retail Ground Advantage price to ship 2 pounds to zone 1.

$6.83 is the current Commercial Ground Advantage price to ship 2 pounds to Zone 1.

The shipping calculator in eBay listings defaults to show the retail price.  Parcel Select Ground was an online-only service, so the online price was shown.  But now if you want your listings to show the online rate, you have to change your site preferences for shipping; it's a check box in "Carrier specific discounts":

Ok, I checked the boxes to offer the negotiated Ebay discount on USPS but it still shows the cost is $8.50 to zone 1 on my end when I checked the listing.  I even had my girlfriend look at it on her Ebay account and there was no change.  Is there something else to do?  Or does it perhaps take a while to update and show the buyer the discounted rates?  Thanks for your help.

Here's the Help page, which explains, "changes you make only apply to new or edited listings where a shipping cost applies." I'm pretty sure that there used to be a checkbox that said, "Apply this to current active listings."

Ok, I'll look into that, but I did try ending a few items and then relist "sell similar" and it worked!  The discounted rates are showing then.  Thanks so much!

Keep in mind @dbtreasurehunter that when you offer carrier specific discounts it will apply to all USPS services, not just Ground Adv.

Since eBay charges a fee on total cost (item + ship + tax) buyer pays, by charging commercial rates you are losing money on every single package. If you want to make up for that you can add a handling fee or increase your item costs - or simply charge retail rates for a built in cushion.

To apply the carrier discounts, pull all your listings into the bulk editor, then submit changes. Even though you're not making any actual changes, you're submitting a revision that will force listings to reindex and that shipping setting to take effect.
