USPS First Class package under 15.999 oz.

On the USPS.com website it states:
"First-Class Package service can only be used for packages under 15.999 oz; anything over the weight limit must be shipped with Priority Mail service."

What if the package is 15.84 oz, does this mean it can go first class?

What if the package is 1 lb 4 oz, do you round up the priority mail weight to two lbs, or do you round it down to 1 lb priority mail weight?

For 1st class, on ebay, use 16oz. On USPS website, use 15oz.

For item 1lb 4 oz- use 1 lb 4oz on both sites. You don't round up or down as they ask the weight (lb and oz) (although the price is the same 1 lb 1oz to 2lbs- then more for 2lbs 1oz to 3 lbs etc.

Yes, it can go first class because 15.84 < 15.999

By the way, this is only available if the postage is purchased on-line.  The maximum first class package weight that can be purchased at the retail counter is 13 ounces.

For Priority Mail, weight is rounded up ... so 1.1 pounds is shipped at the 2 pound rate.
