USPS First Class International Insurance Options

Hello!

First time posting and in need of some guidance on International shipping.

Just sold an item worth $380 USD and shipping directly, not using eBay's GSP service. What are my options for insurance and how do I go about it? I've never shipped anything this valuable and a bit nervous.

Thank you in advance!

USPS First Class International Insurance Options

Was hoping for a quick response since I just got back from work and need to get this shipped. Googled it and looks like I should go with ShipCover. Fingers crossed that's the best way to go.

Best you. 🙂

I assume we're talking about the H-D helmet headsets. Frankly, for an item of that value, I would have offered nothing lower than Priority Mail International, thus giving me at least partial-value insurance and tracking to destination regardless of whether the recipient's country was an e-DELCON member for First Class International packages.

ShipCover is probably no worse than anything else (and I have no experience with it), but I would say a bigger risk would be some other dispute such as Item Not Received or a return request, the latter for which you would have to either send money for return shipping or negotiate a partial refund to let the buyer keep the item (which I see they have already haggled down from $450).

Good luck with the shipment. For next time, I would suggest keeping it US-only; you should find plenty of buyers for that here.
