USPS Delayed Shipping

Last Dec. and now today I have buyers contacting Ebay with complaint and opened a case because they have not received their items.  I shipped promptly, tracking shows "in transit, arriving late"  has been 10 days, yet Ebay says take care of it,  give buyer refund and if item arrives they get to keep.  Am I wrong thinking this is not right??

I believe there is a process with which you can file for your money if an item is delivered after being refunded for non-receipt.

I'm sure someone has that link just waiting to be posted here.

I know! It’s not right! I have 1 package that still says picked up from November 29. I called usps to file a lost package but haven’t heard back yet.

I'm sorry but it is a policy on this platform that sellers are responsible for getting the item into their buyer's hands within a certain time frame. All you can do is follow the procedures, which you did by shipping on time. Now if your buyer opens an INR then again just follow procedures by entering the tracking number, which will buy you a few more days, and hope it will arrive by the time the case closes. If you choose to sell on this platform during the holiday madness than this is a chance you are taking. Best of luck to you....

So, I see I am not the only one that eBay is refusing to help. I thought my shipping problems were because of Hurricane Ida damaging our Post Office.

Yes it is wrong.  Eby should extend estimated delivery dates like two weeks ago.  I removed my listings last week when most of my packages were showing in transit arriving late.  Will get back to selling in January sometime, hopefully.

Isn't it funny how eBay extends the amount of time a buyer can return an item due to COVID yet doesn't do the same for an item that has shipped?  With that said, I always message the buyer when I ship letting them know USPS is running slow at times and that eBay's delivery estimate is just that, an estimate, and they, nor I have any control over USPS delivery times.   A normal buyer would understand!

eBay has been favoring buyers over sellers for well over a decade.

And over that time, sellers have demonstrated time and time again that they will never leave in sufficient numbers to make eBay reverse course.

So the fact that eBay is still favoring buyers over sellers should surprise no one.

That's because they are able to add sellers from another country who doesn't have to play by the same rules

There is but the OP did not refund of their own accord, and it does not apply if eBay has to step in.

If you voluntarily refund the buyer within 3 days of the case being opened, you are eligible for reimbursement from eBay on appeal if the item is delivered to the customer within 30 days of the case being closed. More details on the process here.
