USPS Class action Lawsuit

Every claim i file, they send a letter saying, bring packaging and content to Post Office. We do that, they send another letter rejecting the claim, then you need to send another letter, to protest. And they still do not pay.

eBay give $100 insurance on Priority mail.

Class action lawsuit time.

I'm guessing you are claiming damage due to USPS handling?   If so, the PO will nearly always claim insufficient packaging as the reason for the damage and therefore deny the claim.   The only way you could possibly win such a claim is to have a package that had a tire track across it and you could prove that the tire track was that of a USPS vehicle.   Even then, the PO might deny on insufficient packaging grounds.

As a practical matter, the only time USPS insurance is good is if the package is completely lost, i.e. there is never a delivery scan.

Finally, USPS insurance, if bought separately costs about 2% of the insured amount.   My experience, having shipped nearly 5,000 packages, was zero losses.    I did suffer one loss on an inbound package though.  At my loss rate, 2% is incredibly expensive.   Better to go to the cookie jar insurance method where you set aside a small amount from each sale to cover losses.   On my experience, 1/10th of one percent would be quite adequate.

@joeofcalifornia

Are you having the damaged items returned to you, then filing an insurance claim, or are the buyers providing the packages to USPS?

If you have the items returned, that voids any insurance.

Have a great day.

Which brings up another problem with USPS insurance:  getting the buyer to take the item to the PO.   I suspect most buyers don't want to be bothered.   Why should they?   The ebay MBG has them covered.

In the original post, you said:

" they send a letter saying, bring packaging and content to Post Office. We do that"

If it's lost how do you bring the contents and package to USPS?

Are you saying the items are missing out of the packages when delivered to buyers?

Have a great day.

I agree about filing a class action lawsuit.  eBay is totally out of control!  The Managed Payment System has disrupted everything and policies/procedures are continually changing week to week.  Where is the accountability from this huge conglomerate?

I see you missed this would be against the USPS: not ebay.....

As for a class action suit at the USPS: it may have to happen. That may be the only way to get it straight...

USPS lost one of our packages in Puerto Rico. We paid for insurance, but they refuse to reimburse us, claiming that eBay's proof of value is insufficient. USPS does not recognize eBay's Managed Payments system as legitimate, which is a major problem. We sent all possible documentation to them to appeal it and it was still denied. Definitely time for a class action lawsuit.

How many claims have you filed? Maybe you need to pack better.
