UPS erratically showing up on our listings as a shipping choice

So I've just added UPS as a valid shipping choice for certain listings (heavier / non-media items), in addition to various USPS options.

However, it seems incredibly erratic what eBay displays when you go to the shipping tab for a listing.  For example, our choices that we want to give the buyer might be:

* Priority Mail

* Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box

* UPS Ground

* Local Pickup

Yet, while the UPS Ground option sometimes shows up, usually it does not.  I've played w/ a gazillion zip codes and even logged on & off, revised/saved listings (confirming UPS is a valid choice), yet the problem persists: most of the time UPS Ground is simply not showing up.  Even when it does, if I change the zip code, it frequently disappears. 

Often, UPS Ground is the cheapest option; how does one ensure the buyer can see that??

Is this a known flaw with eBay?  Any suggestions?

eBay's official policy is that they will always show whichever shipping method the seller lists first. After that, they will show more expensive options if they are faster. I suppose cheaper options that are slower are shown selectively based on how much the savings actually is.

I'm on the east coast and I do see UPS in your listing for FileMaker; it costs $20 vs $24 for Priority.

I'm seeing all sorts of shipping options other than the ones I've listed when I go to ship. And when 1 select the USPS tab it gives UPS and FedEx options.  Something has gone haywire today.

Thanks, I think you are on the right track!  I did some more playing, also called support. 

On items for which I list Priority first, eBay will show that, local pickup, and then the CHEAPER of USPS Priority Flat Rate Box or USPS Ground; the latter only shows up IF it's less than that flat rate box.  In that case, SOMETIMES all 4 rates will show up.

Here's an example where all 4 rates show up for West Coast zip codes but only the cheaper of the two shows up anywhere east of that:

"Ironwood Carved Chinese Man/Boy Figure"

Similarly, on the item you looked up, the zip code determines what eBay shows & doesn't show.

I wish that a) eBay would show all 4 rates, let the customer pick, and b) support the Regional A & B boxes, then I usually wouldn't have to enter the medium rate box as an extra option for many items that fit in the A box.

I haven't checked out eBay shipping yet, we rarely use that except for UPS or some international shipments.  Hope that whatever is up is fixed soon for you.
