I will no longer be using UPS fro shipping items. I sell items on Ebay and usually use a different shipper. When comparing shipping cost I had a few items shipped thru UPS because with the Ebay shipping discount, but when the bill actually showed up on my account, the shipping price I was quoted online of $14. 88 ended up costing me $33. 27, I contacted UPS an was told tough luck, that is what we are charging you.

What were the package dimensions?
What was the package weight?
When you were billed, what was the breakdown of charges including package size, weight and surcharges? This could be an issue of not understanding how dimensional weight works @truckdriving88 and the fact that eBay's shipping calculator doesn't factor that in for UPS and FedEx.

@wastingtime101is correct.
Sounds like the package was oddly or oversized, or the information the shipping calculator had was incorrect.

I talked with another agent at UPS and was told that because the item being shipped was gong onto a military base that they decided to drop it off at the local post office and have them finish the delivery, so they charges me an additional $18 for doing this. The original shipping was only $14 and then it became $32 because they chose not to complete their job. I will no longer be using UPS.
