Hi I was wondering if anyone can simplify the the answer to my question on wether or not I will have to pay any fees for buying a comic book from Canada and having it shipped to the U.S. I've looked online and everywhere I could but all I seen were high valued items being explained and nothing as simple as a comic book or a magazine. The seller is using Canada Post Expedited Parcel and I am not sure if that will go straight to USPS or if I will have to pay some kind of fee. Can anyone help me understand this complicated issue please?

The de minimis was raised to $800 in 2016.
The definition of "de minimis" with regards to customs is: the value of a shipment of merchandise imported by one person on one day that generally may be imported free of duties and taxes

The last time I checked the value has to be $600 or more.

I've never paid customs duty on anything bought from outside the US.

USPS will deliver it to you tracked all the way and you will pay nothing. Unless your item is VERY expensive. It goes to Customs first, California one location, then a day or so later depending on volume off to you.
