Two Questions, Not received dispute while item is still in transit, and acceptance scans....

My current issue, is that I had mailed something on the 15th, in usual USPS fashion, something happened when it got to the NC sorting facility.   Yesterday it finally updated, they must of found it, and it says "Scanned through facility" or something to that effect.   So even though the tracking # was updated today, and it should be delivered tomorrow, Ebay still allows the buyer to open a not received case, which I'll lose because I refuse to refund someone when the tracking # shows in transit, and I most certainly will get a defect.

My question is why did Ebay allow someone to open a not received if the tracking # shows a recent scan and shows that it will be delivered in a day.

My second question deals with the post office, and acceptance scans.  On October 25th I dropped of 15 packages at my local post office.   So far 5 of them show that they were sent out, but the other 10 still have no acceptance scan, and no other scan for that matter, it looks like I printed the label, but never sent it.   I know according to ebays policy, it's my responsibility as a seller to ride along with the mailman through every step of the process to ensure delivery, but I just couldn't do that this time.

Did the post office literally lose 10 of my packages at the place I dropped them off or is this normal?   Usually even if they don't do acceptance scans they still update tracking after it gets to a sort facility, that hasn't happened for 3 days now, so it looks like they somehow lost it at the post office I dropped it off at?

I would assume if the INR case is escalated to ebay and they see it in transit with delivery tomorrow they will not refund the buyer. As a buyer I would never even open an INR unless there was no acceptance scan and seller does not communicate. With all the issues facing USPS currently I would suggest getting acceptance scans for all your packages. With your 10 packages that are MIA all you can do now is cross your fingers.
