Well as of this morning I was informed that usps does not provide tracking#s for parcel post packages!! I can't use ebay shipping because I work off an iPad and don't have a wireless/AirPrint printer. I live in a small town so it is very convenient to use the post office. I mail parcel post all the time and was informed by clerk who has given me tracking on parcel before that usps does not do tracking on parcel only first class and priority!! Boy this wish washy rules are really making me mad.

Parcel post is called retail ground now and shipping includes tracking. Your post office clerk is wrong. Why aren't you shipping first class or priority though? You are hardly saving money if any, shipping retail ground.
You shouldn't be shipping items like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Noritake-Grafton-14-Platter-/132298983541?hash=item1ecda24875:g:V3IA... using the slowest service. More time in transit increases the chance of damage. Priority probably costs around the same as parcel post AND includes insurance.

Yep, your postal worker is mis-informed. And much of the time, Priority is less expensive. Depending on what you're shipping, there are a lot of flat rate varieties (or the regional ones) which can save you serious $.
