Hi team! ❤️
So, I had a product that was supposed to ship via USPS Priority shipping. The product was suppose to go out the next day after purchase. After four days I politely inquired to the status and was advised it was a stock issue and that the order would ship soon. Perfectly understandle, I had absolutely no issues with that at all.
A couple days later I got an item shipped email. I was presented with this number:
0004000074521803433898204842638
I've tried doing research and I'm not able to come up with anything at all. It's almost as if this order is not associated with USPS in anyway.
After extensive google searching and trying to put them number through various tracking services I'm stiall at a loss.
I've contacted the seller again but they have yet to reply. Any idead?

Do you have any more information on this? The shipment time, shipping method, if it's labeled Unit 38, etc?
Yes, Unit 38 and street number ending in 1. It left Tukwila/Seattle yesterday.

That looks like a number assigned to a First Class Letter or Flat.

Thanks!
I actually thought so too and asked a friend who works in USPS logisitcs. He stated the tracking number was too long and that my zipcode appeared in the tracking number too late in the string to be a number associated with USPS.
If he was mistaken and this is indeed a First Class Letter or Flat, is there any tracking associated with this shipping method? How do the transit times compare to the method I paid for? (Priority)
Thanks a bunch!

I print postage for first class letters and flats online, and the number that shows up in my postage log (but NOT on the postage label) starts with 0004, but is only 24 digits long. Yours is longer but same format.
If that is indeed a letter or flat there is no tracking. If it is not a USPS number at all then you would need to find out who it is from - as far as I know both FedEx and UPS have letters in their tracking numbers.
First Class Letters or Flats normally travel quickly, generally 1-3 day delivery estimate.

I figured that if you got rid of the 00400007 and started with 4 then you have the right amount of numbers but it doesn't come up for me.
I shipped a couple of parcel flats and FC and the numbers are the same.
Don't know what you have there.

Here is the number in my postage log for a First Class Flat that I just printed this morning:
00040000745218408380*****
(I obscured the last 5 digits - they are the recipient's zip code)
All the Letters I have printed for months come up with that same format - all start with the same string right through the first 1.
I think it is a letter or a flat.

Thanks for the response. I sent you a PM as well.
It's suppose to be going to 18th ave west, unit 38.
While I paid for priority shipping, the product is indeed small enough to fit inside an envelope. Had it shipped priority I would have gotten it today, though it looks like that's not the case anymore and my mailbox was empty.
Do you by chance have any more information on this? The shipment time, shipping method, if it's labeled Unit 38, etc?
You may also contact me via PM, thank you!

Tracking #s for priority and first class packages are 22 numbers long, so somethings Janky.

Thank you so, so very much for taking the time to check. I'm assuming you're a postal employee and I really do appreicate you taking the time to help me as a random internet stranger. It means a lot and I'm very grateful.
If I may ask one more question, as Seattle is usually my destination facility before delivery, is there a chance I'll be reciving the product today?
Thank you again!

Just to let anyone that is confused understand. A tracking number in this format mean that it is an envelope shipped by endicia.com. The last 5 digits of the tracking number is the zip code that it is supposed to be sent to (your zip code). But the bad news is that the tracking number is useless and you can't track your package with it. Your item should be delivered in 3-5 business days (normal shipping speed) and It will be delivered by USPS. I guess the item you ordered is small. But nothing to worry about.
Source: The exact same thing happened to me. Asked the seller and that's what he said. It arrived in my mailbox as an envelope in 3 or 4 days.

This thread was posted 6 months ago, and the OP even updated to say that he has already received the item.
