I sold an item over the weekend and the tracking number on the shipping label doesn't match the one on the item sold page. When I tried to edit the tracking it had two different numbers.

Did you print an extra label? Just where did that incorrect number come from? If you just typed in in wrong, no worry. If you purchased an incorrect label you have to void it out.

You can add more tracking numbers to the eBay page but, there is no way to remove any. Message your buyer with the correct number so they don't worry and explain what happened. You are sure you did not mix up packages, labels or addresses?
If not, your OK just make sure to inform your buyer right away.

yes...what @simba6 said
you can't remove any tracking numbers, so message your buyer, call it a glitch or something, and point out their tracking number
I have done this before, and I just (to keep it simple) tell them about the error, ignore the top one, and their tracking number is the second one that ends in XXXX

Thank you for the information, this is very helpful, I was worried I would be charged twice for postage too.

On a desktop, go to MY EBAY. CLick SHIPPING LABELS. This will show all shipping labels that you have printed. Go to the actual item sold. DO you see 2 tracking #s? If yes, that means that you bought 2 of them. You will need to void one out. Make sure that you void the one that was NOT used! Hurry because I believe that after 4 or 5 days, you can not void it out.

Thank you very much 😊

You are welcome. And if you did void out the wrong one. The box will probably still be delivered but either the buyer or you will be charged the shipping fee. If it's the buyer, be ready to fully reimburse them. If it's you, don't do anything. The post office will automatically take the fee.
