Tracking number won't upload even manually.

Not sure if this is directly related to the pinned message or not.

We have noticed an issue with USPS tracking numbers not able to be uploaded even manually on certain occasions with shipping labels. We mostly use Pirate ship but not sure if issue is limited to only Pirate ship or not. When label is generated in Pirate ship, the tracking number is on occasion not automatically uploaded to eBay in the order details. The label and tracking number are valid and delivery goes as planned (tracking number works at USPS website fine) but the number cannot be uploaded to eBay sales history even manually. The error message that appears when number is added and validated is "Tracking number added is already used by a different seller." We have alerted eBay to this issue and they do seem to have been previously aware as we were added to existing service tag. It has only happened on about 4-6 of our orders on hundreds overall in last several months but it does impact seller metrics so could  have an impact on seller ratings for low volume sellers. Not sure if it's due to tracking numbers getting recycled over time or if it's some kind of system error.

We were only made aware of this issue by a buyer who was wondering whether their order had shipped. It was actually shipped 5/2 and out for delivery on 5/6 but no way for buyer to have checked that that since he didn't have the tracking number (which we obviously then sent him via eBay message) and we noticed the number has not  been automatically updated. Further investigation by checking seller defects and we found several other instances where this happened in last few months, with all giving that same error message when trying to enter the tracking number manually.

I had the same issue.  Called customer service to alert them about this message.  The rep was confused and kept asking where I saw the message "tracking number being used by another seller".  Eventually he got frustrated and hung up on the call.  Silly me for even calling.  I then contacted CS on FB.  They said they are "aware".  If it doesn't put you below the 95% mark to be a top rated seller, I wouldn't worry about it.  It's just another eBay glitch.

After I purchase label on pirate ship, I go back at the end of the day and look to see if every order has an uploaded tracking #.  A pia, but this is eBay 😞
