Hi group.
I ordered some fishing gear last friday from a seller from Germany. The seller has very good reviews. I got a tracking number the very same day but when i looked into it something looked strange. The "Delivery service" is Deutsche Post Brief International. But the tracking number says Royal Mail (UY*********GB). Also the seller info says hes based in China. I tried tracking my package using the tracking number on a few websites but none of them had any info on it. They didnt find the tracking number or anything. All of this sounds a bit strange to me. Is there anything i should worry about?
P.S. The package is worth only about 10 euro and the shipping is arrount 3 euro. It has to be shipped to Bulgaria

I don't think you have anything to worry about. This is a case of an international seller (from China) who probably has warehouses in different areas of Europe. This happens in the U.S. as well and for the most part, things do go smoothly. Since he does have good ratings, I believe your package will arrive to you safely and with no issues. However, if it does not arrive, you can always file a "have not received my item(s)" case against the seller....
I think all will be fine with your transaction.

So you mean that maybe the seller is based in china but has warehouses in germany and the uk. And he sent it from a different one, not the one in germany

Yes, that is very possible. He may have a warehouse in GB. Like i said, this also happens here in the U.S. all the time.
eBay has allowed foreign based sellers to use a U.S. based address (like a local warehouse) and just like that - they are now U.S. sellers and all of their listings show up when we do a search based in the U.S. only.

By the way. My tracking number starts with UY. What does that mean. I don't think ive had a number begining with a U before. I thought that tracking numbers only start with R, C , E, V

Did this transaction take place on ebay.com? Or some other eBay site?
If it did not take place on ebay.com, I would strongly recommend you post this issue on the site on which the transaction took place. There are subtleties and nuances on every site due to the differing consumer protections, mail carrier policies, etc., from the EU-member countries. Americans are generally unaware of these policies and regulations and, therefore, cannot and should not give advice based on how things work in the U.S.

Okay after a lot of asking the chinaman finally confessed and told me that he doesn't provide a tracking number because of the cheap delivery service. But the shipping said Standart shipping. So he gave me a fake or expired British tracking number. He kept telling me that it will arrive but that bugs me because i need the item for a fishing trip. Is there any other way to track it. Like using the order number or something
