Tracking a shipment from the Global Shipping Center

Hi there,

I recently made a purchase on May 4,2017 for two items that were shipped in one parcel

to be sent out the United Arab Emirates.  The cost of shipping was $41.21 International Priority Shipping to United Arab Emirates  via the Global Shipping program.

In recognition of my ebay shipping address I only listed

my first and last name plus my postal office number followed by the country and city. However, I didn't list my personal contact number with my shipping address. I am primarily concerned because as I was reviewing the ebay global shipping and buyer protection program page it clearly mentions that

the global shipping center doesn't ship to P.O Boxes.  Earlier these past days I have been receiving

a few messages with regards to my parcel that was claimed and is currently checked in customs.

Processing at Global Shipping Center

In Transit-Sorting Complete

It gives an indication of my global tracking number and shows multiple carriers but I'm

very concerned because I don't know who to contact with regards of distinguishing the actual

tracking number not this tracking number given by ebay to locate my parcel also find out which

shipping courier is delivering my package to my country.

I contact the seller on the date of purchase and gave him a new shipping address with all my details

without the postal box number. In addition, I contact ebay customer support send them an email describing my issue and how they had to step in to help me discover who the shipping company is and identifying the new tracking number they have when it arrives in customs to Dubai then to Abu Dhabi.

What are the necessary steps I should do next?

I need to make sure for validation of my shipping address is precise and identify the name of the shipping courier ( DHL, FedEx or UPS) that is delivering the parcel to me to my country the United Arab Emirates. If I don't do anything about this and act immediately I am most certain it will get lost in transit

and even if it's delivered to the UAE plus I get notified I still won't have the actual tracking number after it exits customs from Erlanger Kentucky because I don't beleive Ebay will help present the new tracking number from any of the shipping couriers that will then deliver here to the UAE.

I need your help and guidance to resolve this before matters get worse.

Kind Regards

Omer

Re: Tracking a shipment from the Global Shipping Center

There is a master tracking number for GSP purchases, but there are sub-numbers which should tell you the actual carrier.  It looks to be in the process of getting the final destination label and the sub-number may not have been issued yet.

The seller cannot help. They can't change anything after payment.  With GSP, they don't even see your actual address.  They get the Kentucky address for label purchasing purposes.  Pitney Bowes receives your actual address.

The GSP actually does the customs clearing here.  It's ultimately sent with many other items under one Bill of Lading and customs fees are paid up front and not individually.  The package shouldn't have to go through customs clearing on your end.

Re: Tracking a shipment from the Global Shipping Center

This is a real problem in the United Arab Emirates because local couriers just rely on ringing the contact number to ask verbal directions of addresses. Yes this is very backwards but it’s the way it’s done here as many parcels come with many languages on them so the only information the local couriers employees look for is a contact number.

eBay make it almost impossible for a buyer to help them update delivery information which is just counter productive.
