Did you mean:

The tracking number was not for me.

I bought an item from a chinese top rated seller.  After a week or something like that it was marked as shipped, and there was a tracking nr. Eventually it reatched my country, cleared customs and was delivered. But not to me..

I contacted the post office, and they said it was not my name, adress or phone nr.  However, it is in the same town.

I sent the seller a message right away, (late last week) and again yesterday. No responce.

If I look at the tracking history through ebay, there is no record of it leaving china. But if I look at 17track  it is delivered. The date and time it was sent in china also match.

Is it possible that there are 2 shipments with the same tracking nr?

It also seems odd that now the seller have no items for sale, and the feedback is private..

I don´t know if it was private before, I never looked before I got worried that something was wrong.

Did this transaction take place on ebay.com? If not, you might want to post this on the discussion boards for the ebay website you used for the purchase.

This is a common "scam" discussed on these North American discussion boards. eBay considers a package to have been delivered if the city or the ZIP code (postal code) of the buyer's address match the delivery address. There's not much you can do about it except report it to eBay.

As I'm sure you know now, check the seller's feedback before you make the purchase. You might have saved yourself some grief if you had.

Best of luck!

Thank you for your reply. Yes, it was on ebay.com

The seller had good feedback, something like 98.7% positive. I just did not go and read it in detail.

This last month (after my buy, it was one mounth ago) they only have 5 feedbacks, and 3 of them are negative.. But I can´t read them, because they made them private.

The thing is, the postal code does not match. But it is not very far from me, I beleve it is 20-30km from here. But when I look at the tracking on ebay it looks like it is still in china. But the same tracking nr on 17 track or the postal service here shows that it is delevered.

I can not make a claime on ebay, because it looks like it is still in transit..

I found that I could make a request to return the item I didn´t get, and if they don´t reply for a few days I can contact ebay. So I did that today, next week I can contact ebay.

What are you going to return @jo.bjork when your seller approves the request you started today?

I don´t know, I hoped I could get ebay involved in that case. And my thougt was that they would take my side without issues. But from what I saw in some other threads that may not be that easy..

But in this case that part with the seller actually replying to the request was a non issue, it did not happen.

Today I was able to involve ebay, lets see what happens.
