The shipping preferences I selected showing up differently after item listed and sold

I listed and item with shipping selections as such:

*Flat: same cost to all buyers

*USPS First Class package, Cost: 3.00

*No international shipping

Item sold to a buyer with international shipping address.

How does that work exactly? Do the items not for international shipping still show up for international buyers? Will continue with sale, just curious...

Also, I am still awaiting payment (Within allotted time) but when I clicked on product information to view, after it was "won" by buyer, the item showed free shipping.

anyone else dealing with the above?

Answers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If you don't want to ship an item that you have for sale internationally, you have to create a shipping exclusion list when creating your listing.  To make changes to items already listed, Go to My eBay, account tab, My Account, Site Settings, Shipping Preferences, click Show, click edit on Exclude shipping locations from your listings, block all the regions you don't want.  Apply to all live listings.

So even though I selected no international shipping when I listed item on my mobile app, it doesn't matter? So pretty much one must set up account and preferences on the desktop site and then you can manage on app accordingly if you wish? Silly.

thanks for the help!

Unless the buyer has a US address they won’t be able to pay because you you don’t have a shipping cost to their country. If you are willing to ship there you can figure out the shipping cost and add that to the invoice.  If not, you can open an unpaid item claim after 48 hours so that you can receive credit for the fvf.

To prevent this from happening again you really don’t have to list all the countries that you don’t ship to.  The easiest way is to go to site preference, buyers requirements and check off ‘block buyers with a primary address in a country that I don’t ship to.  Then apply it to current and future listings. Once that’s done, if you only specify shipping to the US, buyers without a US address won’t be able to buy.
