17 days to deliver a Priority Mail item! The USPS has become unreliable. Time for Ebay to end the deal with USPS, or renegotiate the discounts. For another $2 I could have had the item shipped 2 day UPS.
apology, message is intended for EBAY Management.

Sad but true.

Whats interesting for us is priority mail is what was lost as was 2 day (since they all go on the same plane)...however all of our first class mail got delivered and fast. I think ebay should give some type of discounts.

What kind of negotiated discount deal do you think eBay has? eBay domestic postage labels charge the regular USPS published online rates that you can get from any online postage seller (PayPal, stamps.com, endicia, etc.), except for Media Mail (we pay retail) and the 3% extra discount that Top Rated Sellers get on Priority Mail postage.
There has been enormous publicity related to how overwhelmed USPS was over the holidays. Not only was there an increase in online shopping, but UPS actually cut off some of their biggest customers, forcing them to use USPS too. Unlike the private carriers, USPS cannot turn down business and cannot impose a surcharge for locations that are remote or otherwise difficult to deliver to.
Check the eBay Announcement board for information on how eBay has acknowledged this issue and has tried to accommodate it.

USPS has become unreliable ! There is NO doubt ! This was just their first meltdown ! The whole world is changing fast, I do not believe the USPS can move fast enough (restraints ) to keep up. There will be more USPS meltdowns! There is NO way I would ship anything USPS at this point in time.
I am not a full time seller but been here 20 years, My average sale in 20 years is $115 dollars each, just drove 32 miles round trip to drop off a $22 item to My nearest FedEx drop off point ! I do not want any of MY buyers to go through what I am, one item shipped on Dec. 1 from 2 1/2 hours away still NOT here, another shipped from Georgia on Dec 9 still not here ! Times are changing !

@rdg-ctl True they are unreliable right now but they are not going away any time soon, nor are shipping delays. The issue is really eBay's handling of INR claims and Feedback during these unprecedented times. It's a simple business decision ... just suspend ALL INR claims for 3 weeks minimum after the original estimated delivery date and suspend the entire Feedback system until February of next year ... then in Feb revisit the whole shipping issue and see if we can go back to normal.
Sellers in no way shape of form should be held accountable for either late shipments and lost revenue via INRs or suffer less than Positive Feedback really aimed at carriers ... PERIOD.
I'm not sure what part of that eBay wouldn't understand ...

Fact - The USPS handles more volume in one day than FedEx and UPS combined handle in 1 YEAR. I suggest you try UPS for all of your shipping needs but I just bet you will return to the USPS because of cost. Have a good one!

Just what discounts would you suggest eBay give? eBay doesn't deliver you packages.

You have one item listed and have not sold anything in the past month. ?
12-31-2020 11:22 PM
Yes, just one item listed this moment and You have two ? If you click sold items You will see just two items sold this month, set of Harley exhaust pipes $120 (buyer got a steal of a deal ) and a YZ125 seat $22, Oct.. Harley new take off top end $475. As I said not a full time seller, I will go in bursts of selling and around Christmas time I do not list, what I usually sell brings much better $ in another month or two.

The USPS is acting like the antiquated two hundred year plus year entity it is. It's imitating private companies in not committing with their employees for job security, etc. This has resulted in huge employee turnaround which, in turn, has destroyed accountability within the USPS. For example, unscrupulous transient mail carriers scan items as DELIVERED but no package is left in the mailbox. The USPS, as per my own experience, questions everything but never question the actual mail carrier who scanned the item for proof of him or her delivering it. It's like their word trumps over the USPS clientele. I don't believe they search for reported missing or theft. Businesses are using UPS, FedEx. etc. because they offer tracking of exactly is the package expected down to the time and in which street or how many blocks away from delivery it is. Now, that's accountability. The USPS merely has an ancient and unreliable tracking that spans the entire day of waiting. In my case on repeated occasions mail carriers scan the items as delivered only to appear a day or two past the alleged delivery. The last time, I asked the carrier [at night] about my tracking saying the item was OUT FOR DELIVERY since 6:00 a.m. The item was scanned "delivered" an hour or so after I asked. Well...the package is not anywhere to be found three days later. I made a claim but told them how I felt about it and that I accepted the item not missing but stolen...by whom, I don't know but they do if they go back to WHO scanned the package the morning of the alleged delivery and if they also asked the carrier who scanned the package "delivered". But, I'm not holding my breath. One thing is for sure, anything I buy from now on would be in person and never by eBay until they sever their business ties with the USPS.
