I've been a long-time Ebay user and buyer for more than the past 5 years. I hadn't used Ebay since it began to offer the 'GSP' service to sellers wanting to let Ebay + Pitney Bowles to take care of all final shipping, customs, and documentation.
However, my gripe with this service is the convoluted routes for shipping which undoubtely has affected delivery times overall.
I currently have an item sent by a seller who's from CA. Instead of asking some of his time printing online the customs form/postage printed on the package as a USPS Priority International consignment, he posts it USPS, who in turn, then has to send it all the way to KY. If anyone else knows, KY is also a major hub for UPS who unlucky for them don't have the best flight routes. My seller could have sent it using USPS and, USPS sends it straight off to me via their LAX ISC mail center. So, 3 days Priority Mail shipping to KY, and then how many days after that? From where I am, the package from LAX would arrive in less than 7 days. This 'GSP' probably in 9 or more.
I really appreciate all my US sellers I've dealt with, but this makes no sense.
Sorry Ebay, this is totally whack.
