Suspicious buyer question

After my item sold, the buyer requested my PayPal email to pay me for priority mail shipping. I thought this was suspicious so I selected to refund the buyer under the shipping menu. Should I have waited after the buyer’s funds cleared before selecting refund?

Cancelling the transaction will result in a defect for you. If you are uncomfortable dealing with the buyer that’s fine but I would have told the buyer that’s not possible without them repurchasing the item with the shipping they are requesting.

Suspicious buyer question

Buyers who want your PP email address or phone number do so in order to send you a fake payment receipt.

The fake "receipt" will tell you that the buyer has paid and to ship the item. But there's been no payment and if you ship, the buyer gets a free item.

DO NOT DO IT.

Did you happen to look at the ID of the person who wants your PP address? Is it really the same ID as the buyer?

I always tell them I cannot expedite shipments due to eBay policies.
And ask them if they want me to go ahead and ship, or would they prefer I cancel the sale.
That's always worked fine for me.

What reason did you give for the cancellation?
