Suggestion for Ebay for returns

Since you have so many options for buyer requirements, I think Ebay should have an option to block any buyer who has requested a return from a seller who doesn't accept returns.  This garbage of favoring the buyers in every way is about to drive me to sell elsewhere.  Sure you can ask Ebay to step in but they pretty much tell you up front that the deck is stacked against you and may cost you the fees "if" they happen to side with the buyer.

I think this would be a great option.  Sellers like me can just avoid the troublemakers all together.  Might it cost me a sell here or there?  Sure.  But I'd gladly accept that.

I'm sure nothing will come of this because ebay will not do anything until they start going broke but I think it's a good idea.

I've been on ebay since 1998 and back then it was posted "caveat emptor" on the home page.  Boy it was much easier to do transactions back then and the customers seemed to be happier.

My last return which was listed as an as-is untested item wasn't even returned with all the pieces!!!  Man am I hot but I know that if I call ebay I'll probably just be more frustrated.

You're welcome to sell elsewhere however buyers will have the option to force a return no matter where you go. You'll have to accept payments by some method and Paypal provides a buyer 180 days to return/refund and most everyone that pays via a debit/credit card will have the option for chargeback if they needed to.

I understand you are frustrated about buyers abusing the return system and there are options you can pursue when one does. If a buyer should return something in a different/used condition you can appeal to Ebay and report that buyer for abusing the Ebay MBG. If they return a empty box or something completely different you can file mail fraud and internet fraud reports. While this is not ideal for any seller it is something that can and does happen to everyone at some point.

It's better to accept returns then not to. Buyers are more prone to be honest if you accept returns rather then forcing one making a false SNAD. I agree however Ebay should start holding buyers accountable that abuse the system. Some are serious repeat offenders and sellers can document and prove it yet it seems they do nothing about it. There is another thread on the boards displaying just that and yet they are being permitted to still buy and wreak havoc on sellers.

If you chose to accept returns and choose to offer 'free returns' you can deduct some of the refund if a buyer should use an item, up to 50%. You will however be required to pay return shipping for all returns even buyers remorse so it really is what category you sell in. If you sell in clothing or a high scam category I wouldn't advise offering free returns. But if you rarely have any returns it may be something to consider.

So many?   The only buyer requirement that eBay really has is that they have the ability to click the "buy" button and have some form of payment.

It's kind of like the drinking age enforcement we had when I was growing up.  The only requirement was that you had to be tall enough to put money on the counter.
