Hello,
I'm packaging up a buyer's item and I'm taking it to the post office tomorrow, but I'm very confused by the address. Obviously I will not disclose the address here, but there is a strange combination of numbers and letters below the main street address line. It reads like this (again, this is obviously not the real address, but this is the format it is in):
Person Xxxxxxx
000 Xxxxxx Ave. Unit X
0x0000
Xxxxx, XX 00000-0000
XX
The part that confuses me is that third line between the street address and the town/state address. What on earth is it? It's a number, followed by one lower case letter, followed by four numbers. I have never seen it before in my life. Does it denote some kind of pickup box?
Does anyone know what this is? And if this somehow breaks the rules of the conversation board, let me know and I can take it down.
Thank you! Very confused about how to handle this. I might just send the customer another email and ask what's up with that extra line.

Wouldn't surprise me. Some big city apartment houses are huge and have internal post offices as big as some towns'. The weirdest one I ever saw was c/o a motel in Canada. On second glance, it was out in essentially the middle of Nothing and was the place everyone in the area got large packages. Possibly regular mail too.
She who dies with the most toys still dies; when's the estate sale?

Most likely to identify it to be shipped from there to the buyer in a foreign country.
Likely a "freight forwarder" address.

It's going to a freight forwarder. Leave the address as is and ship it.
I get those frequently.

It's a forwarding service. It is probably the customers number in their system.

Your buyer is most likely international and uses a freight forwarder in the US.
That extra information is usually an ID for the buyer for the freight forwarder to use to send his item to him.
