Hi! My buyer received their package and they have footage of it being stolen. Currently, they are asking for the insurance receipt number and they are going to file a police report. Where do I locate the insurance receipt number, and is there anything I can do to help them??
Thanks

Did you purchase insurance for the package? If you shipped via USPS, then the regular tracking number will show whether it was shipped via Priority Mali which includes some insurance, and also whether you purchased extra insurance.
But insurance on a package only covers it up to when it's delivered so providing that number won't help much.

The buyer needs to file a police report in her own city. She can submit the evidence to them and they can try to do facial recognition and find the thief.
USPS or whoever delivered the synthesizer isn't responsible if the buyer's delivery location isn't secure. And you have no responsibility either.

Your job was done when it was delivered.
Postal Insurance is for the seller for items that are lost or damaged during transit. The carrier's job is done when it's been delivered. Insurance doesn't pay for items stolen or that went missing after delivery. The buyer has to file a claim with their homeowners insurance company and see if they'll cover it.

They need to file mail theft and a police report.
Carrier Insurance will not help them, since the item was delivered.
They can file an insurance claim with their home/renters insurance.

Sorry to say but under MBG, you're liable for Buyer to receive the item. But you've key piece of evidence saying item was stolen after delivery. So save that message, that will be your savior
If your package wasn't insured, just send back a message saying it is not. If it was mailed Priority, state; you have a $100 insurance limit
Don't get yourself involved more than that, troubles might backfire at you and you lose money
Anyone contacts you, relay Buyer's message of package was stolen after delivery

Shipping insurance does NOT cover theft after delivery. They might be covered under their homeowners policy. The buyer can use a copy of the eBay sale for that. As the seller, there is nothing you can or have to do.

I agree with the others... USPS insurance (if there was any) won't help this victim. Bummer for your buyer.

Insurance won't cover a stolen package. They can file under their homeowners insurance but there deductible is going to be much higher than that. A package stolen off their porch is their responsibility not yours. It is not up to you to patrol their porch for them.

I will repeat what was said above, keep any communications from this buyer. You may need them later if, for instants, they try to do a chargeback.
