I really think that eBay wants you to die of old age before you receive your purchase from China through SpeedPAK. Delivery via this method takes 2 to 3 times longer than ePacket. Obviously eBay has some benefit from choosing this newer method.

Insofar and I know, eBay does not select the shipper - I thought the seller selects the shipper. I could be incorrect, if so, someone please correct me.

The seller selects the shipper. eBay has nothing to do with it in any way.

Seller decides what carrier they want to use.
Yes, it takes awhile to get anything from China.

Any seller can choose whatever shipping service they wish to use. I very rarely order anything from China, it just takes too long to arrive.

Hmmm. I guess stand corrected. Was reading a post from another member who had mentioned that eBay had contracted with SpeedPAK. I assume part of that must be true since eBay makes that option available to the seller. Would that be correct?
As for speed, I have never had any problems with ePacket. I have purchased items many times from China that were shipped by that method and the package has had a good record of arriving within 5-7 days instead of 2-3 weeks.
As far as I can see the problem with SpeedPak is that the organization aggregates things into bulk shipments instead of single item shipping as with ePacket. And if you follow the tracking information you will find that there are delays with getting the items into the system in China then also USPS when they supposedly arrive via the east coast rather than the west coast at some forwarding facility in the eastern US. There American shipping labels are applied over the Chinese ones to continue on to the delivery point. Simply more needless steps in the shipping process.
