Something went wrong and we were not able to generate the label. 2nd day for this error

For 2 days I've been unable to use eBay process to print a USPS postage label.  I try to purchase and print a label and get message:  "Something went wrong and we were not able to generate the label."  

Tried eBay "more help" chat, He told me there was a Tech issue; "it should be cleared in 24 hrs."

Is the problem widespread?   I'm trying to send a 1st class package from MA to Puerto Rico. Thank you.

Hi, this is a recurring issue with some addresses/labels - last time I checked (about a month ago), no one knows why this happens and nobody at eBay is going to be able to provide you with any information that will help you override this error.

If you're receiving the error on an international order, I'd suggest using USPS instead of eBay Delivery Services and if it's on a domestic order, I would suggest using pirateship.com to print the label. I've used both when I get this error and have had delivery issues with neither.

you could try a diffrerent browser or just use paypal shipnow  label

It was a domestic order. The error never went away. I shipped from the USPS counter. Thank you.

I have the same issue when I have no funds in pending payouts and I am super frustrated with this issue because it won't let me buy the label using PayPal, which I never had an issue with, before they changed the system.  Just posted about this as well. SUPER FRUSTRATING! They really screwed this up when they created the new payout system.

I was getting this error. When I changed from the first USPS option (First Class, cheapest) to USPS Priority Mail, which accommodated my long tube shipping container, I was able to generate a label.

Make sure you're not trying to ship something First Class which is outside the allowable size or weight for First Class. That will reject it. Switch to Priority Mail and it will probably print.

Check and make sure you don't have "Custom Packaging" checked near the top of the Print Label screen. If you're using UPS, USPS, etc., make sure "Carrier Packaging is selected.

Also, verify buyer's address. I had to add a coma between city and state to get a label to print just now. I was searching for answers and this is how I ran across this thread.

having the same issues and I think I may have figured out why.  I currently refunded someone $10 after a payout so I have $XXX pending but $-3 in ebay.  I do no think it allows you to buy a label with a negative balance even though their are pending payments.... not sure but i also do not know what else to do cause i am not adding money to ebay haha ugh

Thank you for this post. I was pulling my hair out at how infuriating this was, and then I changed my payment to credit card and it went through. I much preferred pack link, I never had any issues.
