I sold an item to a buyer but it came broken. He wanted to return it for a refund, I said no problem. After I accepted his return for a refund, a couple days later he says he just want's a partial refund now. Is there a way where I can give him just the partial refund in stead of having him return back the item?

Okay, so you selected the Return for Refund option, but now he's changed his mind? I'm not sure how you could cancel the return since he requested it (not you), but aside from that, I am wondering why he is suddenly willing to make a partial payment for something that's broken. Has he fixed it himself and decided to haggle a lower sale price? What was the item? Is it likely that it did arrive broken?

It was a limited edition collectible statue. It was a clean break that looks like it could be glued back easily. I sold it to him for regular price and it looks like its worth much more. He told me he has had problems with his post office returning things from eBay and so he said he would rather just keep it now.
