So I sold an item to someone about 2 weeks ago. It delivered fine, they left a good review, then today I get a notice that they want to return it due to “damage while opening”. I take a look at the VERY blurry photo they attached, and it a hair dryer. I sold them cassette tapes. Of course there is no option to deny the refund and there is no one to contact at eBay. I left a comment saying the photo that was attached is not for the product I sold them. Anything else I can do?

Can you contact the buyer and let them know that this was not the transaction, that you sold them cassette tapes and they already left good feedback? ask them to close out the request. do that through the return request "send the buyer a message"
there is a way to call ebay, i have called them several times during the virus. call them if you dont get a quick response ( closing out the case) from the buyer and let ebay know what happened and see if they will close it for you. Also you may want to block this buyer ( i'd also check the FB they leave for others to see if there is a pattern).
https://www.ebay.com/SELLERHELP you have to do some scrolling to find the need help contact us link at the bottom of one of the pages. they will call you back.
good luck!

So ebay stepped in to look at the return request, and decided that I was lying. I’m now being forced to refund the item once he sends it back. So I’m pretty sure I’m about to give this guy his $50 back for someone else’s broken hair dryer.
