So shipping a 15 oz. package to my own zip code costs $7.50?
This is bad for business.

You are showing the "retail" charge to a buyer.
Retail 1st Class only goes to 13 ounces. so it defaults to Priority rate being shown.
Online shipping for 13-15.99 ounces costs the same amount. (currently $5.29- $5.95 )
If you change the listing weight to 13 ounces the amount displayed will change.

As noted in the other post, the shipping calculator in eBay listings defaults to show the retail prices for postage. The weight limit for retail First Class packages is 13 ounces, so when you enter a weight greater than that, the shipping calculator does the same as the clerk at the PO retail counter would do: Upgrade to Priority Mail.
I agree with the above advice to just change the weight to 13 ounces, since the postage cost would be the same. Alternatively, you can go to your Site Preferences and choose to let the shipping calculator show online rates. It's called something like "share carrier discounts."

That's really what I care about, what the customer sees. I didn't know that and I guess I.ve been away from the community for about 4 years, so I guess I will default all first class to 13 oz at max. Thank you.
