Called ebay support was told that estimated delivery times would be updated due to USPS delays. This is NOT true, I shipped a priority package and eBay still puts the estimated delivery time at 4 days, when actually, per the post office, priority packages have been allocated a 2 week delivery time since all the backups. Ebay then says it is the sellers responsibility to use a different carrier, well OK then, but the other carriers are just as backed up. This is absolutely the worst, I really cannot believe that ebay would not simply stop INR cases during this time, but no they would rather have all sellers just lose money, I tell you now if I lose money I WILL SUE!! I will file as many lawsuits as possible, legal is free for me so I don't care!! It is literally theft when a buyer gets an item that they did not pay for, so if I lose INR cases because eBay refuses to protect their sellers, SUE, SUE, SUE!!!

My experince has been free legal services rarely pan out as helpful. You might want to give them a heads up to the legal disputes section of the user agreement.
If you know at this time there is a severe delay why is your store still open? You can take 'time away' to mitigate damages.

Not to mention any seller could provide exemplary customer service to its buyers by keeping in contact with them, making them aware the items have shipped and that system has delays, etc as a way to mitigate exposure.
Also sellers could be aware of the steps eBay has taken in support of sellers:
and see picture in this thread.....
Use what you can to avoid INRs all together. Seems like the best bet as lawsuits are lengthy, etc.

Thank you for this info! I have had many sleepless nights since this began. So concerned about possible multiple refunds/neg feedback/metrics. I feel bad for buyers and sellers in this situations. I have dozens of packages that have not moved in weeks, when I always ship within 12 hours of payment. Scary time to be a small business, and ebay never usually having sellers' backs...

Anyone can file a lawsuit but let us know how that lawsuit goes. The user agreement you signed says you can't sue. And when you lose and have to pay eBay's legal fees I hope you have deep pockets.

Sue the USPS not ebay. They the ones making the mess.
Oh and please read the user agreement.

Yep on the one who suggested pop corn to watch this thread...

You'd be better off suing the Postmaster General

Well, not much to see here. reruns get boring 😁 , and I have to keep an eye out for a stipend. Apparently some of us have one due.
Carbide threads may get some new replies. will have to stay tuned there, but that may just be the same old rant revisited after napping.

I have been selling and buying here since eBay started over 20 years ago. If I had a dollar for every time a person stated they were going to sue eBay I wouldn't need to sell here, for sure. As the old saying goes, this is eBays' sandbox. They decide which corner gets more sand or the spot where the neighbors' cat makes a deposit. Is that right? Absolutely not.
During the past month, I have upgraded my USPS mail classes to even Express on most items. Why? For a few extra bucks, to hopefully avoid the whole shipping mess presently. By going with Express I have found I actually have ended mailing items for free as the guarantee service was missed by a few hours to a day or so. I also understand most sellers cannot choose that option as it is simply not cost-effective.
I recently placed my store on a temporary hold just to wait until the dust settles. Yes, I have had shipments delayed up to two weeks. Most are finally getting delivered as of today. What's the answer to this problem? I have tried to be proactive and send emails to late delivery buyers letting them know that I am personally tracking their item(s) and assure them that they will receive their item(s). All have replied understanding the mail delays and acknowledge the fault is not on me. I have not had any INR cases so far(knock on wood). If I do and a refund is made by eBay or myself, I will open a package recall via the USPS website immediately. It cost $15 to do so, but that's better than losing money and the item. Yelling and screaming here or at eBay will not get you anywhere. You would have better luck trying to make your points to a rock. At least you can kick a rock after you vent and find it is not replying back or it could care less. eBay definitely should be doing more with this problem. What to do is their problem as we sellers are paying them to provide a safe and business-like venue for selling. One thing for sure they could implement immediately is if a refund has been made due to a late delivery and later delivered, they could issue a refund to the seller if the buyer does not pay for or return the seller's property. Otherwise, eBay is promoting theft. The bottom line is if eBay takes money from the seller because of an INR then they should reverse this if later delivered. Real simple.
I feel your pain and I am not trying to make lite of it. If possible you should just put your store or listings on hold and breath. I wish you well. Hang in there. As I always tell my kids - in a hundred years, it ain't gonna matter.
