I bought some carbonators from a seller for 600.00 . He didn't use signature required . It looks like they where stolen from the delivery spot . Now I'm out 600 plus the carbs too . What are my options here . Not requiring a signature on anything under 750.00 now . To me not requiring someone to sign for a package worth 600 is kinda like leaving you keys in you motorcycle while you spend the night in a bar .

Not requiring signature confirmation for anything under 750 is just eBays policy for sellers. A line had to be drawn somewhere, and thats what they chose. Agree or disagree with the policy, that's what it is. Most sellers are happy to add it at a buyers request, and especially if they offer to pay for it. Unfortunately your options are to be better prepared next time around. "Porch Theft" isn't covered by the MBG or by any of the delivery services. I've been in your shoes before, and the only way I solved the issue was to pay for a secured mailbox at a UPS store. Between my USPS delivery driver handing out packages to the wrong address consistently, to people stealing packages where UPS or Fedex threw them at our door, the extra $180 a year has saved me thousands in the end.

What are your options? If you really believe the stuff was stolen then file a report with the local police and hope something turns up.

Delivery signature is one of the [few] scam prevention tools that sellers have. I've put some *delivery signature requireds* on items of $3-400.00; And I don't do it for the customer, I do it for myself. I place my intentions with this in all of my listings of what I deem as eligible value, and will be incorporated into the COS. Should I not use delivery signature, and my shipped item falls victim to a porch pirate, it is I who bears the loss, not eBay. And eBay tendril's aside, I am going to take precautions, to see that does not happen.

Did you check with the carrier to determine if this package was delivered to the correct address or not? If not give it a try. All carriers seem to miss deliver from time to time - even Amazon - I recently received 5 packages from Amazon that were my neighbors.

"Should I not use delivery signature, and my shipped item falls victim to a porch pirate, it is I who bears the loss, not eBay."
In this scenario it's the buyer who bears the loss. Not the seller, and no never eBay lol. It's the buyers responsibility to provide a safe delivery location.

You are correct... I misconstrued the gist of the O/P's, uhm .."scenario". 50 lashes with a wet noodle for me. 🤓

"It looks like they where stolen from the delivery spot ."
Contact the shipper and find out if it was delivered to your addy.

Although Signature is required for over $750; Carriers are NOT having customers sign anything, they do it themselves- due to CV19.

eh I generally consider 'signature required' to be a scam. All depends on whether whoever delivers your mail is responsible enough to actually bother to get a signature, and in all my life I've never seen the delivery person check the identity of who's signing for the package. I only use it if the order value is high enough that eBay policy/paypal policy says I have to send it with 'signature required'.

A PO Box comes handy for someone who orders a lot and desires to have a safe place to hold the packages for some time.
Porch pirates is the reason why items like Ring or other doorbell cameras where invented.
If you do not want to spend the extra $ in any of this items, you can always select to have your orders delivered at your place of work, instead of home, at least you will be there when the item comes.

The tracking showed it was delivered. This is more a homeowners insurance/theft sort of issue. I suggest renting a mailbox at a local UPS store or installing security cameras/getting a dog.
I would file a police report for something like this. Something was stolen from you. Try sending that to eBay. But it isn't the sellers fault at all.

Depending on the carrier, due to Covid, some of them won't even collect a signature
or sign for the package themselves.

I realized the error after posting, should have been pirates, and unable to change, my apologies.
