Signature confirmation on Global Shipping

I have just sold an item that will be delivered to Australia through the Global Shipping program in Ky. The buyer has requested signature confirmation upon receipt. That seems a little odd, but, perhaps he is concerned that someone else might intercept the package. Is signature confirmation possible with the item going through gs to Australia?
