I live in a large condominium rental complex in Philadelphia. No shipping companies, Fedex, UPS, USPS are getting signatures on any of my deliveries even though the seller has indicated that I would be required to sign. Except for the USPS the shipping companies fail to ring the bell to the building to alert the recipient that they have a package. They just leave the package out on the step. This is a gated community but still... these companies are accepting money for these services and are not fulfilling their obligation.

Lived in our home since 1996 and can't recall any delivery person from FedEx, UPS, USPS or Amazon ringing our door bell except when a signature was required.

I was out in the yard the other day when UPS came. I asked if they needed a signature. The resposne, "we don't do signatures now because of covid. Do sometimes get asked who is accepting package.
As for doorbell. FedEx and UPS often ring bell just to let us delivery has happened. The last deliveries my neighborhood can be 8:30 or later so I guess they want to be sure we know it's there.
