Did you mean:

Should we assume that items listed on ebay are functional.

I recently purchase an item on ebay. The item was a Solar panel listed as

The item dis not work as you would expect a solar panel to do. The panel does not produce any voltage as you would expect when exposed to sunlight.

Ebay refuses to support my claim saying that the item was sold "As described". No where in the listing did it state that the item was broken, may not work or was for parts only etc. So anyone would assume that it was functional.

It seems like I have being talking to a robot in trying to explain the problem.

I guess now my only option is to persue this through samll claims against the seller.

You're doing the right thing, smarter than the average American eBay user.

If you have been talking to ebay CS, you are going about it all wrong.

Just file a SNAD.

You will end up losing more money suing an ebay seller than if you just walked away.

Use the tools ebay gives you. Open a SNAD.

Yup, all you have to do is either Request a Return or go to the Resolution Center and open a claim for "Item Not As Described" and you're well on your way however... Since the seller does "not accept returns" you need to remember that you have to read carefully the instructions and follow them exact, then when the time comes you can escalate the case to have Ebay step in and they will refund your money.

When you see "seller does not accept returns" on Ebay, this is ONLY for buyer's remorse - I don't like it, it doesn't fit, it makes my butt look big..."  For an item that is broken or does not match the description, file a case for item not as described in the resolution center. The link is at the bottom of every Ebay page. The seller will be required to send a prepaid shipping label for you to return the item. If they are in another country they cannot do this, and you may wind up having to call CS.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.
