Did you mean:

Have been pulling my hair out it seems no matter what I do I have been charged almost 2 times what the postage originally was. I’ve been with EBay for 14 years and this is crazy.

Not sure by the omission of any information worth trying to figure out what your issue is, but let's try this:

What is the weight and size of package?

What was the shipping method?

Did you use 'Calculated' shipping?

Charged by who?

We can probably help if you provide an example with specific details, including package weight and dimensions, service used (e.g., Priority Mail?), both ZIP Codes, and both exact prices.

You have not supplied enough detailed information @ehopkins*760 for anyone here to help figure out what the problem is or if you accidentally made a mistake or two.

eBay charged me but if I’m under charging I don’t want to anger customers. I have been doing what I always have I measured for the size box and I have weighed most because I’m unsure the padded envelope I use I don’t or the small ones. What ever I I need to do. But that’s part of if I’m having trouble getting used to the over head which is the shipping and if I’m paying for the extra it’s some what confusing I liked doing it through my PayPal because they had a better breakdown then my personal one. I’m venting but I’m retired and the extra money helps but I enjoyed it. I did 32 years of retail I was the best hand engraver in S California and I could pack and ship all the time I could guess weight within 1/16 of the weight. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had trouble with the new way we get paid I don’t sell a lot all year until Christmas and other holidays. Thank you and all replies are welcome just please be kind.

I’m doing the same as always I reuse boxes and I take measurements of the item I sell and I weigh as close as I can by the weight of the item and +some.

you provided no info for anyone to help other than to guess.

Are you selecting "package", or are you selecting "large envelope" when you list?

If you are going to "track" the shipment by using a eBay label, you need to select "package" when listing.

I use package.

OK in the absence of detailed into  I'll take a wild guess: The next time you purchase a shipping label, check the "Shipping from" ZIP Code that appears below your return address.  This can be set to a different ZIP Code that doesn't match your return address.  If the eBay gremlins have changed the "Shipping from" ZIP Code, then the postage rate that eBay charges you will be wrong.

Well, I asked pertinent questions in post #2 but it's like pulling teeth.

1.) Are you using UPS, Fedex or USPS?

2.) Give 1 example of a package and how you are listing it (USPS, Fedex, UPS) and how? (Priority, 1st Class, UPS Ground, Regular, 2 day etc etc.)

Yes @stainlessenginecovers  I've noticed this on more than one occasion ... many of these issues wind up being "operator error" meaning the Seller made a mistake that they did not notice and then want to blame the system.  I'm NOT saying the system is infallible but in a lot of cases it is not the system.

I had a Buyer ask me once if it REALLY cost $ 89 to ship a train car I had for sale ... oops, checked the listing and I had a rather large dimension in one of the dimension boxes on the listing form ... I figured out what happened ... when I enter values sometimes the TAB key doesn't move to the next box and if I am in a hurry I don't look at what I am doing, just pound in the dimensions and move on.
