Shipping to Houston

I accepted a best offer on some books wens and when I realized they were going to Houston I emailed the buyer to ask him not to pay until he was ready to receive them, so I didn't get a ding for not mailing on time. ( 2 day shipping) He went ahead and paid and left me a note not to mail them until next week. But my shipping time says ship by Sept 5th so I guess ebay has set up a system that is giving us extra time to ship to some area codes? Now if I could just remember how to turn off seller hub without going back thru the postsSmiley Frustrated

You can go to USPS and under TX,which zipcodes are delivering mail and if the post office is open.

Due to the weekend and the Monday holiday, September 5 IS 2-day handling for items that are paid-for today.

If the buyer has specifically asked for the package to not be mailed yet, then whether the PO is open or not does not seem to be the issue.

The buyer may not be home until after the date he has asked for shipping.

Hi

I live in the Houston area. I just today received a package i ordered over a week ago. However in answer to your question, his house may have been FLOODED!!!! Meaning they may not be living there and are most likely NOT living there. Looters are not to bad but they are around. Just an FYI post, not trying to be difficult.

As for turning off the hub,  google it. Thats how I do it, its much easier. LOL

I don't know if ebay is allowing sellers UNAFFECTED by the storm to ship late without getting a defect for it?  In your case ebay is staing you have to ship within your stated 2 business day handling time.  Their announcement seems to only be in effect for buyers & sellers directly affected by the storm (late shipping for sellers & late payments for buyers).  Does anyone know if sellers in other areas of the country will be protected if they decide to not ship within their stated handling time?  Will they get defects for not shipping?
