Shipping to Canada from US without GSP

I just had a buyer message asking me to take Canada off GSP so I can ship directly to him. I am new to selling on eBay and haven't dealt with this before.

My understanding is GSP takes care of customs and all that, if I shipped to him without it would I be stuck paying for the package to pass customs? Thanks in advance for any help.

The customs form also downloads along with your shipping label - all you need to do is sign it (there is supposedly an electronic signature, but not all USPS stations take it so I just sign and date the customs slip).

Canada is about the easiest country to ship to and a good one to start out with (without GSP, which a lot of Canadians dislike).

Buyer would pay customs if required.

Many items to Canada do not require customs payments.

You can ship it directly using USPS postage. As mentioned above, IF there are any customs taxes they are paid by the buyer before the Canadian post will release the package. I do it all the time. Perfectly safe. On top of that, once the package gets to Canada post the tracking will show up on the Canadian post office web site.
