Shipping paid by customer differs from invoiced amount

I know it's probably too late to do anything about this but I'm just trying to figure out what might have happened so that it doesn't happen again.

A customer in Canada asked to be invoiced for an item, which I did. Shipping on that invoice was $25.

Right after he added two more items to the order and I sent him a new invoice for all three items. For shipping on that invoice he was given a choice of Ebay International for $36 or First Class International for $44. He paid the invoice immediately and I packed it up.

When I purchased the label I noticed that he choose Ebay Int but that it only charged him $25 for shipping. I thought I had done something wrong and went back to the invoice I sent but didn't see any $25 choice.

Does anyone have any idea how he could have paid $25 for shipping even though it was not a choice on the invoice to do that?

If buyer purchased three items and you sent an invoice selecting all three items to be combined, are you sure you removed the original $25 shipping option and only left the two new choices?

Go look at the order details and see if there is a clue there are to what happened.

We get a break shipping to Canada from the USA...vs any other International country. I don't do label shipping from eBay. I prefer to go to the post office because shipping to Canada is different than other countries for shipping. And talking to a clerk in the post office tells you the best and cheapest way to ship anything.

Did you know that if you use a box that saids wine or alcohol on the outside but only has a bunch of clothes inside will not be shipped? Amazing what one learns going to the post office.
