Shipping options--Help, please

I haven't sold on Ebay for quite a while.  I'm confused about shipping options.  If I select USPS Ground Advantage, will Ebay calculate exact shipping cost and bill the buyer?  Do I have to enter exact weight and dimensions when I list the item?  And if so, will I be able to print the shipping label when item is sold?

And what happens with an international buyer?  Will this automatically be calculated and billed based on weight and dimensions?

Thanks for any help you can give me.   I am sure it's all pretty simple, but I am confused.

eBay will bill the buyer for the selected shipping amount.  You do have to enter the size and weight of the item.  Take care with that as if it's incorrect you can be billed for the difference.  A paid shipping label can be purchased and printed through eBay or other services like paypal.    For international if you use the eBay service for that, you only have to ship it to the shipping center in the US. eBay does handle all billing for that.  Again yes, all shipping goes by both size and weight.  Over size but light weight items can cost a lot to ship.

Yes, you can choose to set up calculated shipping prices for Ground Advantage and eBay will figure out the correct price to ship fro your ZIP Code to the buyer's If you enter inaccurate weight and/or dimensions, then you cannot expect the shipping calculator to be accurate.  But the degree of accuracy needed isn't very precise.

Dimensions are rounded to the nearest inch, but they don't affect the postage cost unless (1) package length is over 22 inches; or (2) package volume is over 1 cubic fot (1728 cubic inches).

Weights above one pound are rounded up to the next pound, so the postage cost for 2 pound 1 ounce will be the same as for 2 pounds 15 ounces. For weights up to 1 pounds, prices are in 4-ounce increments so for instance the postage cost for 5 ounces will be the same as for 8 ounces.

When purchasing the postage label, it is possible to adjust the package weight and/or dimensions if you discover that the listing was set up incorrectly.

Re: Shipping options--Help, please

Just to be clear, and so there are no surprises.

eBay doesn't 'send a bill' to the buyer. They add shipping at checkout based on information that you enter in your listing. Most states charge sales tax on the shipping as well as the item. Ebay charges the buyer all of that at point of sale. Item, Sales tax, shipping.

They keep the sales tax to send to the buyers state/county/city, take their fee (calculated on the grand total of item plus shipping plus tax) and send you the remainder.

YOU then buy the shipping and print the label. The idea is that you charged the buyer enough for shipping to cover the final value fee, the shipping cost and any materials.

Re: Shipping options--Help, please

I am new to selling on eBay and I don't see an option to adjust the package dimensions or weight when purchasing the label.  This option doesn't seem to be available to me after the buyer purchases.  When creating the listing I can change the package dimensions or weight, but not after the sale when purchasing the label.
