Any chance ebay can extend the amount of time for shipping, INR and returns? The estimated delivery times have been way off for the past several months. Because of the holidays, items that were supposed to get here in a couple of weeks are still stuck in transit somewhere, and at least one is approaching the limit for INR. I don't want to penalize the seller if it's the shipper dragging their feet, but neither do I want to miss any deadlines if something goes wrong (or even just to give feedback.)

The estimated delivery date shown on your listings is based on the time it takes you to pack and ship items (your handling time), and the delivery or courier services you offer.

If you're getting close to the deadline on an INR definitely file with eBay. I ship a fair amount of packages and the shipping times have not had any massive delays as far as I have seen even through the holidays. Do you mind saying what sorts of items you are waiting on? large items tend to move slower through the mail and are more prone to delays I have noticed but if it's something that can fit in a cubic ft or less they tend to move right through. I do not think eBay can change the allotted time for shipping but may be ill informed on that aspect.

The estimated delivery date also does not take into account the weather related delays that occur daily across the planet or when a shipping company has multiple people off for any reason or that roads might be inaccessible.

For example, I bought a box of teabags on 12/6. It still is in transit, flagged as 'arriving late.' A box of pectin for making jam took over a month to get to me. Either things get to me fairly promptly or get stuck en route for extended periods.

They do it for hurricanes and bad weather of sellers who ship when there is bad weather.
Unfortunately, sellers who ship out where they live in perfect weather(me) and packages get delayed due to bad weather where items are going...good luck.
We will see this week coming up what happens...especially in the St. Louis area...where the weather is horrible from snow...some melting..than the big freeze....
I expect a lot of headaches from sellers shipping to that area or going through that area where there WILL be items not received claims coming in.
